New York, NY and San Carlos, CA – June 20, 2016 – Nuxeo, developers of the Nuxeo Platform, which enables organizations to manage complex digital content at massive scale, and MarkLogic Corporation, a leading operational and transactional Enterprise NoSQL database provider, today announced the Nuxeo Platform now supports the MarkLogic® Enterprise NoSQL database as a storage backend. Made possible by the modularity and flexibility of the Nuxeo Platform’s core repository technology, Nuxeo’s NoSQL persistence engine now offers native integration with MarkLogic to develop, test and deploy mission-critical, content-centric applications that are key to optimizing enterprise business processes.
The Nuxeo Platform with MarkLogic for Enterprise NoSQL storage provides customers with large content stores the ability to take advantage of features such as NoSQL with ACID transactions, clustering, high availability, and replication. The MarkLogic database provides the flexibility, scalability, and agility of NoSQL to store, manage, and search structured and unstructured data, without sacrificing any of the data resiliency and consistency features of legacy relational databases.
MarkLogic also provides key enterprise features such as government-grade security and high availability. These core values, as well as features such as bitemporal, geospatial, tiered storage and cloud support, make MarkLogic an optimal database for integrating data from silos to more quickly achieve a unified, actionable 360-view of business information. This view serves as a platform for building next-generation applications that power better business decisions, reduce time to value and mitigate risk.
“We truly believe in new generation backends like the MarkLogic database,” says Eric Barroca, CEO of Nuxeo. “MarkLogic provides advanced capabilities and performance to our customers. MarkLogic is optimized for structured, and unstructured, data and our customers need to be able to manage rich content with a very high volume of content.”
“MarkLogic aligns with industry innovators, which is why we’ve chosen to sponsor HCEG. We have the common goal of collaborating and reshaping the healthcare industry,” stated Bill Gaynor, Healthcare National Director for MarkLogic. “The most impressive aspect of HCEG is that it uniquely combines payer and provider organizations in a way that fosters trust, mutual collaboration and genuine commitment to create value and improve clinical, financial and administrative experiences.”
“Nuxeo and MarkLogic understand the dynamic and ever-changing nature of content, so the integration of our technologies will benefit our customers immensely. Our expertise in integrating large amounts, and diverse types, of data is complementary to Nuxeo’s data and digital asset management strengths,” said David Ponzini, senior vice president, Corporate Development and Marketing, MarkLogic Corporation. “Combining Nuxeo’s top content management platform with the MarkLogic database gives customers the agility they need to leverage all of their data and build rich content management platforms on a highly scalable, available and reliable database platform.”
The MarkLogic database can be used in place of, or alongside, the existing persistence engines for SQL and NoSQL databases available for the Nuxeo Platform. Existing Nuxeo Platform implementations can immediately benefit from the MarkLogic database without making any changes to existing applications.
This connector is now in its beta version and will be publically available by the end of 2016.
