SAN CARLOS, CALIF. – August 4, 2014 – MarkLogic Corporation, the leading Enterprise NoSQL database platform company, today announced the successful outcome of its annual MarkLogic World Conference. The World Tour kicked off with a three-day technical conference in San Francisco and proceeded to Amsterdam, London, New York City, Chicago, Baltimore, and Washington D.C. There was record-breaking participation from the Company’s customer-base and strategic partners – with nearly 2,400 engaged developers, IT managers/directors, CIOs and business leads – who shared their experiences and highlighted the importance and value of Enterprise NoSQL.
More than 40 customers and partners presented in the events’ sessions and panels.

MarkLogic presented awards and recognized customers who have achieved excellence with Enterprise NoSQL, including Wiley, American Psychological Association, Deutsche Bank, Zynx Health and University of Virginia Press. The Christopher Lindblad Award went to David Leeming at Royal Chemistry Society. This award is presented each year to an individual for the work they do to support the MarkLogic community.
In addition to customer presentations and sessions, the Partner Showcase gave all attendees the opportunity to meet with MarkLogic partners. MarkLogic World platinum level sponsors – Intel, Smartlogic, and Tableau – traveled to each city to educate about their technologies and solutions. Eighteen silver level sponsors, including Amazon Web Services, EBCONT, Esri, RSuite CMS, TEMIS, and Yuxi Pacific, joined the tour at various cities.
The Tour also highlighted MarkLogic’s product strategy, company direction and gave a sneak preview of features that will be delivered in MarkLogic 8. Throughout the events MarkLogic reaffirmed its dedication to providing an innovative, world-class database platform that addresses the concerns enterprises have about security, high availability, and transactional consistency, while providing more flexibility, scalability and performance than traditional relational databases. As Gary Bloom stated during his keynote, “Enterprises are adapting to today’s modern data challenges with a new generation of database technology, and MarkLogic is adapting to provide them greater ease of use across all areas of our business: product, licensing, pricing, and training.”
