Customers, Partners, and Developers Showcase ROI and Successes of Enterprise NoSQL

SAN CARLOS, CALIF. – August 4, 2014 – MarkLogic Corporation, the leading Enterprise NoSQL database platform company, today announced the successful outcome of its annual MarkLogic World Conference. The World Tour kicked off with a three-day technical conference in San Francisco and proceeded to Amsterdam, London, New York City, Chicago, Baltimore, and Washington D.C. There was record-breaking participation from the Company’s customer-base and strategic partners – with nearly 2,400 engaged developers, IT managers/directors, CIOs and business leads – who shared their experiences and highlighted the importance and value of Enterprise NoSQL.

More than 40 customers and partners presented in the events’ sessions and panels.

Some of the highlights include:

  • Ryan Donahue from the Metropolitan Museum of Art discussed why MarkLogic was chosen to power the Museum’s iPhone App.
  • Freddie Quek, engineering director, strategic initiatives for publisher Wiley, discussed how the company’s long term relationship with MarkLogic has helped solve its challenges managing the mass amounts of content it produces; and how the technology has allowed it to ramp up sizeable projects for customers in record time.
  • Bill Cline, National Lead Partner for KPMG explained how its “Know Your Customer” application, built on MarkLogic, will revolutionize the financial services industry.
  • Representatives from Codifyd and LexisNexis spoke of the benefits of MarkLogic’s search capabilities. A point that resonated well with the audience, was that while unifying data is a hugely significant, being able to find things within the data with ease and alacrity is just as important, making MarkLogic Search a key component for both companies.

MarkLogic presented awards and recognized customers who have achieved excellence with Enterprise NoSQL, including Wiley, American Psychological Association, Deutsche Bank, Zynx Health and University of Virginia Press. The Christopher Lindblad Award went to David Leeming at Royal Chemistry Society. This award is presented each year to an individual for the work they do to support the MarkLogic community.

In addition to customer presentations and sessions, the Partner Showcase gave all attendees the opportunity to meet with MarkLogic partners. MarkLogic World platinum level sponsors – Intel, Smartlogic, and Tableau – traveled to each city to educate about their technologies and solutions. Eighteen silver level sponsors, including Amazon Web Services, EBCONT, Esri, RSuite CMS, TEMIS, and Yuxi Pacific, joined the tour at various cities.

The Tour also highlighted MarkLogic’s product strategy, company direction and gave a sneak preview of features that will be delivered in MarkLogic 8. Throughout the events MarkLogic reaffirmed its dedication to providing an innovative, world-class database platform that addresses the concerns enterprises have about security, high availability, and transactional consistency, while providing more flexibility, scalability and performance than traditional relational databases. As Gary Bloom stated during his keynote, “Enterprises are adapting to today’s modern data challenges with a new generation of database technology, and MarkLogic is adapting to provide them greater ease of use across all areas of our business: product, licensing, pricing, and training.”

During the tour, the company made several announcements, including:

  • The Norwegian standards agencies decision to standardize on MarkLogic software.
  • America’s Test Kitchen’s choice of MarkLogic for its publishing database.
  • MarkLogic’s availability on AWS GovCloud, making it the only Enterprise NoSQL database platform that is FedRAMP compliant.
