SAN CARLOS, Calif. — March 26, 2010 — MarkLogic Corporation, a leading provider of information infrastructure software, today announced that senior consultant Dr. Damon Feldman will speak at the annual Biometrics & Forensics Summit to be held March 30 – April 1, 2010 in San Diego, CA at the Manchester Grand Hyatt, Downtown.

According to the conference program, “Biometrically Enabled Intelligence (BEI) and Identity Intelligence Fusion (IIF) solutions are moving out of the lab and into production environments. This trend presents new and often unexpected challenges in performance and hardware requirements for these systems because of the large data volumes found in operational use. Unlike basic matching, querying, and data management applications, IIF systems must allow users to perform multiple types of searches, organize, and share immediate results. They must also integrate the results together into a comprehensive picture of potential identities, biometric matches, and actionable intelligence. Dr. Feldman’s session will explore some of the challenges with integrating the specific capabilities found in BEI and IIF systems to help inform sponsors, program managers, and other stakeholders in these efforts.”

The 2010 Biometrics & Forensics Summit is focused on the theme of “Biometrics & Forensics on the Edge: Resetting for Continued Success.” This theme drives the requirement to support the Warfighter by resetting biometrics and forensics capabilities through enabling, facilitating, and championing the development of these capabilities in Army, Joint, Interagency, Allied, Coalition, and national organizations. Biometrics and Forensics are critical in meeting the challenge of leveraging all available technologies and capabilities to prosecute full-spectrum operations in highly complex conditions and environments. The summit assembles leaders, Warfighters, and subject matter experts from across the biometrics and forensics community to discuss how innovative training and technology will collectively shape the future and ensure success against threats on the current and future battlefield.

As a senior consultant with MarkLogic, Dr. Damon Feldman provides information infrastructure technology and services to the intelligence community. His recent work has focused on the development of systems dealing with data volumes ranging from terabytes to hundreds of terabytes. These systems have included both DOMEX and biometric systems. Prior to joining MarkLogic, Dr. Feldman held senior positions with Information Management System for Mine Action (IMSMA), LineSider, Inc., TotalClarity, Inc., and Network Inference.

The Biometrics & Forensics Summit will be held on March 30 – April 1, 2010 at the Manchester Grand Hyatt, Downtown in San Diego, CA. Dr. Feldman’s session, “Survey of Issues in Development of Biometrics Search Systems Including Issues of Large Scale Production Deployment” will be held on Thursday, April 1, 2010 at 9:45 a.m. PT.
