SAN CARLOS, Calif. — April 21, 2011 — MarkLogic Corporation, the company revolutionizing the way organizations leverage unstructured information, has been named a finalist for the Software & Information Industry Association’s CODiE awards in the “Best Database Solution” category. MarkLogic has won the “Best Database Management” category for the past two years.
MarkLogic Server is a database that allows organizations to fully leverage the 80% of data that is classified as unstructured information and to address issues associated with big data. This can included anything from documents and PDFs, to emails and tweets. The “Best Database Solution” category recognizes the best solution for the storage, organization, management, search, and retrieval of large quantities of data in a business environment for any range or combination of activities, including financial, contacts, records management, research, documents, and other sources. Finalists are also eligible for the “Best Operations Management Solution” and “Best Information Management Solution” super-categories.

Created in 1986 by the Software Publishers Association (SPA), now the Software & Information Industry Association (SIIA), the awards showcase the software and information industry’s finest products and services. CODiE Award finalists in the 26 Software categories were selected from nearly 400 nominated solutions. These products underwent an intensive review by subject matter experts, analysts, journalists, and others with deep experience in the field to determine the finalists.
