SAN CARLOS, Calif. – April 3, 2009 – MarkLogic Corporation, a leading provider of infrastructure software for information applications, today announced that John Kreisa, director of industry solutions, will present the session “Enabling Dynamic Assembly and Reuse of Operational Documents with SharePoint and Microsoft Word” at the SharePoint Summit 2009 to be held April 6-8, 2009 at the Centre Mont-Royal, in Montreal, Canada.
Operational documents that define policies and procedures are responsible for holding complex organizations together. Organizations are able to push authoring out to business users with the most current experience and knowledge about key procedures by using regularly available desktop productivity tools instead of specialized content authoring tools. This results in better policy documents and a more efficient organization. More companies today are starting to use a combination of products such as Microsoft SharePoint, Microsoft Word, and MarkLogic Server to allow the dynamic assembly of documents. This presentation will review a comprehensive case study involving JetBlue, a leading airline who is using these technologies to drive complex enterprise compliance. John will also uncover how business users within the authoring environment, such as Microsoft World, are now able to search across approved content and repurpose any level of content, improve the content adding significant value for future reuse as well as protect content across all channels by leveraging the ability to secure official information.
SharePoint Summit 2009 is a memorable three day conference, which brings executives, technology managers and analysts together in order to provide an opportunity to gain a better understanding of SharePoint’s potential, capabilities and limitations. This informative summit will explore decision making, business strategy, information architecture, custom SharePoint site development as well as implementing an Enterprise SharePoint solution. Four track sessions will be featured including business application, case study, information architecture and developer. SharePoint offers the potential for companies to gain a development platform for business solutions that lower operational costs as well as pledges to resolve organizational matters such as compliance and productivity. This conference will discuss that without the right strategy, planning and execution, SharePoint is simply a vulnerable tool susceptible to traditional problems.
