SAN CARLOS, Calif. — March 15, 2012 — MarkLogic Corporation, the company powering mission-critical Big Data Applications around the world, today announced that Ron Avnur, CTO, MarkLogic, is part of a panel on Wednesday, March 21, at 8:40 a.m. (ET) at GigaOM’s Structure:Data conference in New York City. In this session, Avnur will discuss real world approaches to managing unstructured data and the future of technology for managing unstructured information. The panel “Structuring Decisions from Unstructured Data” will be moderated by Seth Grimes, principal consultant, Alta Plana, with co-panelists Paul Speciale, vice president, products, Amplidata and Staffan Truve, CTO and co-founder, Recorded Future.
Additionally, Fernando Mesa, principal technologist, MarkLogic, will host a workshop on “Extending the Hadoop Ecosystem with MarkLogic for Real-Time Search and Monitoring” on Wednesday, March 21 at 1:15 p.m. (ET). In this session, Mesa will demonstrate how integrating MarkLogic and Hadoop in a single platform can provide real-time search and monitoring capabilities to a Big Data infrastructure.
“Organizations are working with a growing number of data sets, and these are increasingly in an unstructured format,” said Avnur. “The key to managing Big Data and making it actionable lies in the ability to search and locate information across all data types, regardless of structure. We’ve already entered the era of Big Data, but as implementations become more sophisticated and organizations build Big Data Applications, access to all data will become imperative.”
GigaOM’s Structure:Data assembles the world’s leading technologists, practitioners, and business leaders to explore the technical and business opportunities spurred by the growth of big data, including storage needs, data analysis and the uncovering of new revenue opportunities.
