SAN CARLOS, Calif. — April 20, 2009 — MarkLogic Corporation, a leading provider of infrastructure software for information applications, today announced that Simon Atkinson has joined as managing director of MarkLogic (UK) Limited, the company’s subsidiary in the United Kingdom. This appointment further solidifies MarkLogic’s management team and presence in the UK.
Simon joins MarkLogic with 20 years of experience in the software and services markets, including senior sales and general management roles. Prior to MarkLogic, Simon was international sales director for Elite, part of Thomson Reuters and a premier provider of financial and practice management systems to the legal industry and other professional services markets. In this role, Simon led the sales effort for all Thomson Elite products outside of the US and was responsible for defining and executing sales strategy. In previous positions, Simon held senior management roles at Tescom, a quality assurance consultancy; Verity, now part of Autonomy; Merant, formerly Intersolv; and the London Stock Exchange. Simon received a bachelor’s degree in systems analysis from the University of the West of England.
