Keynote Speakers Include World-Class Big Data Thought Leaders, Former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff

SAN CARLOS, Calif. and Washington, D.C. — March 29, 2012 — In early May, Washington, D.C. will be the place to be for organizations looking to use Big Data for big ideas. MarkLogic World 2012 will take place at the Ronald Reagan Building, May 1-3, 2012. MarkLogic World 2012 will be keynoted by retired Adm. Mike Mullen, who was chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff from 2007 to 2011. Mullen will discuss “The Intersection of National Security and the Global Economy.” In his keynote, Mullen will talk about the challenges he faced while serving as the top military adviser to the president and the secretary of defense through two administrations. Mullen will also discuss the challenges facing America, looking at economic growth, infrastructure, education, and foreign and military policy.

In addition, three leading research analysts will take part in an analyst panel to discuss “Trends in Big Data.” Matt Aslett, research manager, 451 Research; Mark Beyer, research vice president, Gartner; and Noel Yuhanna, principal analyst, Forrester will take the stage to discuss the state of Big Data, major trends in Big Data, predictions for the next five years, and the momentum of Hadoop.

  • The MarkLogic Excellence Award will be presented to three customers and/or partners that have implemented MarkLogic solutions in new and innovative ways to achieve a substantial effect on the business or organization. This includes new deployments, advancements on existing deployments and added features.
  • The Lindblad Award is a special recognition for one individual, not an organization. Named for MarkLogic founder and CEO Christopher Lindblad, this award is presented to a single person within an organization who has gone above and beyond to successfully innovate in his/her organization with MarkLogic.
