MarkLogic has been at the forefront of solving complex data challenges for over 20 years. The industry recognizes us as a leader, offering significant capabilities to help solve the world’s most critical and complex data challenges. I’m proud to share that this pioneering spirit will continue as we become part of Progress.

About the Progress Acquisition of MarkLogic

Today we signed a definitive agreement to be acquired by Progress, the trusted provider of application development and infrastructure software. A global company with over 100,000 enterprise customers and more than 2,000 employees in 20+ countries, Progress understands the value MarkLogic brings to the database and semantic metadata management customers. It will bring significant cross-functional corporate resources to bear in securing the long-term success of our customers and our people.

The deal will close in early 2023, subject to obtaining regulatory approvals and satisfaction of other customary closing conditions. Once complete, MarkLogic products will complement the Progress portfolio, especially Progress DataDirect, which currently offers cloud and on-premises data connectivity solutions across relational, NoSQL, Big Data and SaaS data sources. In all, Progress provides companies with what they need to develop, deploy and manage high-impact applications, and together with MarkLogic, it will have valuable technology needed to solve the most complex data challenges across the entire connect-create-consume data lifecycle.

A Track Record of Accomplishment

We look to our future, proud of all we’ve accomplished. In the two years I’ve had the privilege of leading the company, we:

  • Completed the strategic acquisition of Semaphore, teaming up to unlock value from complex data.
  • Were named a visionary in the Gartner® Magic Quadrant™ for Cloud Database Management.
  • Won a new contract with the Department of Defense, helping them accelerate AI development.
  • Launched product updates that continued to build upon MarkLogic capabilities as a unified data platform with analytics, simplified deployment, management, auditing, and so much more.
  • Met customers, partners and friends across the world, cementing close relationships and collaborating to solve their most pressing data challenges.

We will soon bring this momentum into our new home at Progress, where we’ll forge an even stronger future together. Progress’ focus on R&D demonstrates the importance the Progress team places on innovating its products to fortify both long customer tenure and product excellence. This is an approach we, and our customers, can believe in.

Thank You

Thanks to the MarkLogic team; your dedication, insight and commitment to excellence helped us to become the dynamic company we are…we couldn’t have done it without you.
